  • Beach/Badges:    

Beach badges are required for everyone using the beach, ages 12 and up. For your convenience, we provide badges and allow you to use them for the week. We ask you to leave a $35.00 deposit per room for badges via a credit card which will be returned to you upon return of the beach badges. Thereis a $35.00 replacement fee for each lost beach badge. Please enter the beach via Mercer or Middlesex Avenues and refrain from using private lanes. Please keep off the dunes: Substantial fines may be imposed by the town. Parking on Middlesex and Mercer is very limited; it may be in your best interest to walk the short two blocks. Please use the sidewalk along Cedars Ave. In the event you do drive, please pay attention to the posted parking restrictions at the street ends.

 

  • Beverages:           

    Coffee and tea are located in the Dining Hall from 6:30 a.m. through dinner for your enjoyment. Soda and snack machines are located in the Ping Pong Room in the Hotel, outside the Hotel and in the entrance to the Dining Hall. Please, do not bring food or drink into the Chapel. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the grounds of HCBC.

 

  • Bicycles:               

    Bicycles should only be stored in the bicycle racks located around the conference grounds. They may not be stored on porches, or in stair towers as they may prohibit egress.

 

  •  Bookstore:           

    The bookstore is located in the Chapel building. Please see your schedule for the hours of operation.

 

  • Business Office:  

    The hours are Monday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

 

  • Candles, Incense, etc.:                

    By order of the Fire Marshal the burning of anything in any of our rooms or buildings; or tampering with the smoke alarms is prohibited. Any violation will result in a $100 fine. 

 

  • Canteen:               

    The snack shop is located on the first floor of the Hotel/Inn.  Please see your schedule for the hours of operation.

 

  • Chapel Services:  

    Check your schedule for Chapel times. We do expect that all of our guests will attend Chapel services.

 

  • Check-Out:           

    1:00 p.m. (Homeschool Weeks, Presbyterian Week, Family Weeks #1, 2, 3) 9:00 a.m. (Family Week #4) Please be completely out of your rooms by your check out time. You can return your key and pick up your deposit at the Front Desk in the Victorian Hotel starting at 7am. We ask that our guests: leave the sheets and pillowcases on the bed. 

 
  • Children/Teens:   

    Please supervise your children at ALL times. During Chapel times children and teens are expected to attend the programs we provide for them or sit with their parents in Chapel. Teens should be in their rooms with their parents after 11pm. Please ensure that your children reserve running and ball playing for the gymnasium or the outdoors. Furniture and railings are to be used only for their intended purposes. See the Front Desk for more information about our Children and Teen programs. Please be aware that the streets surrounding the conference grounds are public streets and your children should use caution when crossing or riding bicycles. New Jersey state law requires children 16 yrs old and younger to wear a helmet when riding a bicycle.

 
  • Copies/faxes:      

    A conference representative is available at the Front Desk to assist you. For a nominal fee certain services, like copy, fax, etc. can be provided during business hours at the Front Desk.

                               
  • Damage:                

    Please report all damage and spills immediately to the Front Desk.

 
  • Dock:                    

    Swimming and diving off the dock are strictly prohibited. Children under 10 are to be supervised at all times. 

 
  • Dress Code:         

    Causal dress is always acceptable;  modesty is our guideline. In an effort to maintain modesty we ask that women wear one-piece bathing suits and that both men and women wear shirts and shorts/cover-ups inside the buildings. 

 
  • Emergencies:        

    First aid equipment is available at the Front Desk. In the event of a serious injury requiring EMS, dial “9” then “911” from either the lobby phone or the phone in your room. You are located in Harvey Cedars Borough in Ocean County at Harvey Cedars Bible Conference – 12 Cedars Avenue. After calling “911”, please notify conference personnel at extension 0. Front desk staff can also direct you to the nearest hospital, medical center, and/or pharmacy. Fire Escapes are posted on the back of each room door. The closest Hospital is Southern Ocean County Hospital (SOCH) about six miles on Route 72 West (just beyond the parkway underpass) 609-597-6011.

 
 
 
  • Housekeeping:    

    During Homeschool, Presbyterian and Family Weeks, our housekeeping staff will come in your room each day during the morning chapel service to freshen your room. If your room is occupied during that time, they will return the next day. If you would like your bed made, please make sure it is clear of your personal belongings.

 
  • Ice Machines:      

    Are located in the laundry room of the Poolside Lodge and on the 1st floor of the Bayview Lodge.

 

  • Internet:                

    For your convenience, a wireless connection can be obtained in the hotel lobby free of charge. In the event that our service should go down there is an internet café on N1st St & Blvd in Surf City called How You Brewin?

 

  • Ironing & Laundry:   

    See the Front Desk for an iron. Please refrain from ironing on the beds and carpet. Ironing board is located in the 2nd floor Bayview Lodge laundry room. Coin operated washers and dryers, open from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., are located in the Poolside Lodge. Facilities for Bayview Lodge guests are located on the second floor. Soap can be purchased at the Front Desk.

 
  • Linens, Towels & Toiletries:   

    We are glad to provide bed linens. Please bring your own towels (bath & beach), soap, tissues, and personal items. Sleeping bags are not allowed in any of our rooms. If you forgot something, we have some toiletries available for purchase in the bookstore. The Front Desk can also give you information regarding where to purchase any items that you may need. Please note: we do not provide hair dryers. . 

 
  • Lost & Found:     

    If you’ve misplaced an item, please see the Front Desk. Please bring “found” items to Front Desk as well.

 
  • Meals:                   

    Please see your schedule for meals times. Meals are served family style; or individually plated. To help us serve you quality meals, please be on time for the start of the meal. Upon request we will gladly honor special diet restrictions with notice 10 days prior to your arrival. The kitchen staff is glad to prepare the fish/crabs that you catch while here, but this service is restricted to certain meals. Please check with your server for more details. If you must take food from the Dining Hall to a sick guest, please clear that with the Dining Hall hostess. Please remember to return the dishes to the Dining Hall.

 

  • Parking:                 

    Please park in designated areas, as follows:

Bayview Lodge has its own parking lot on the north end of the building. Please do not park beyond the “No Parking” signs by the side entrance to the Bayview Lodge.

Poolside Lodge parking is on the street side of the building.

Captain’s Deck guests may use Bayview Lodge or the Chapel Lots.

Hotel/Inn, please use the Chapel Lot; Ministry Activities parking lot

Please be aware of the Handicapped Parking, Fire Zone, Delivery Zone and employee parking areas.

  • Pets:                    

    Out of respect for other guests pets are not permitted at Harvey Cedars Bible Conference.

 

  • Photographer:      

    During your stay with us our staff photographer will be taking pictures of our guests and activities to use in our brochures and web pages for promotion of the Bible Conference. Please notify the Front Desk at check-in, or the photographer, if you do not want your picture taken and used in this manner.

 

  • Pool:                      

    Please see your schedule for the hours of operation. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult at the pool. 

 
  • Quiet Time:           

    Quiet hours for the conference grounds and buildings are from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Please be considerate of our guests and neighbors. Guests are expected to be in their rooms by 11:00 p.m. 

 

  • Recycling:            

    Please note the recycling receptacles around the grounds; for glass, plastic and aluminum cans only. Our staff works hard to keep the grounds neat; and we appreciate your help in using our trash receptacles.

 

  • Rooms:                  

    In an effort to honor God in all we do, it is the policy of HCBC not to allow unmarried couples to share a room. Please consult with us and we will be glad to help you make other arrangements.

 

  • Security:               

    Our buildings will be locked at 11:30 p.m. each evening. When guests are here, a night watchman is on duty; for any special needs just dial 0 from the phone at the Front Desk. Or for any medical, life-threatening emergency dial “9” for an outside line and then “911”.   For your safety our buildings are now monitored by security cameras.

 

  • Smoking:               

    Smoking is NOT permitted inside any of the buildings or on our porches.

 
  • Speed Limit:         

    Please observe the 25 mph speed limit on the surrounding residential streets.

 

  • Telephone:           

    The Bayview Lodge has a telephone in each room; please dial “9” to get an outside line.
